Today,  STEERE is a third generation family-owned business.  The core values and vision of Frank W. Steere, Jr. remain throughout every facet of the organization and guide us through our decision making each day


F. WILLIAM "Bill" STEERE

CHAIRMAN

Bill earned his BS in Economics and MBA at The University of Michigan. After 3 years working in NYC, he returned to Akron to join the company. Bill held a variety of positions and was named president in 1981 and CEO in 1984.

Since returning to Akron, Bill has been actively involved in the community and has held a number of leadership positions including board chairs of Akron Child Guidance, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, Akron General Medical Center, and Akron General Health Systems. Other boards on which he’s served include The United Way, Red Cross, The University of Akron College of Business Advancement Council, YMCA, Rotary, Summit Education Partnership Foundation, AAA, and Healthnetwork Foundation.

He has been very involved with the Young President’s Organization having served as chair of the Cleveland Chapter as well as being a member of YPO’s International Board of Directors. In addition to his charitable work, Bill has served on the boards of numerous privately held companies.

Bill enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and is a fitness enthusiast. He was an avid runner for more than 30 years and ran The Chicago Marathon in 1999. Although sometimes creating more stress than it relieves, he enjoys golf whenever he has the opportunity.

Brock W. Steere

CO-PRESIDENT

Brock drives the sales, engineering and innovation teams and is responsible for strategic planning, new business development, customer relations, and product branding.

Prior to joining STEERE, Brock worked for the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, managing national retailers like Dollar General, Save-A-Lot, Family Dollar, Menards and did a tour of duty leading the day to day operations of Wrigley’s military/vending business. Brock has extensive retail experience in branding, product development, and broker management.

Outside of the office, Brock has served on the boards of Healthnetwork Foundation, United Way of Summit County, and the Cleveland Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Brock’s hobbies include traveling, skiing, golf and fitness. Brock resides in Akron with his wife Courtney and their twins, Hunter & Emerson and daughter McKenna. Brock graduated from Indiana University in 2001.

Brian J. Steere

CO-PRESIDENT & CFO

Brian manages the Finance department and is responsible for capital budgeting at the company. In addition to shaping STEERE’s culture with his father and brother, Brian helps drive strategic planning and new growth initiatives.   

Before joining the family business in 2012, Brian worked for seven years at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, serving in a variety of different financial roles. Since returning to STEERE, he has served on the boards of Junior Achievement, Coleman Professional Services, and the Akron Rotary Foundation. He is a graduate of Torchbearers and Leadership Akron Class 33.

In his spare time, Brian enjoys playing tennis and golf. Brian resides in Akron and has a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan (2003) and an M.B.A from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2008).


Mark Stahl

Mark A. Stahl

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Mark oversees the day to day operations of STEERE and Square One Engineering. In his role, he works closely with the Steere family on executing new business developments and evaluating future business opportunities.

Since joining STEERE in 1993, Mark has held management positions in engineering, operations, quality and sales.  Prior to joining STEERE, Mark worked in engineering for McNeil Akron and the Kent Worldwide Machine Company.

Outside of STEERE, Mark is involved with the Southern Summit Rotary organization and is a counselor for SCORE. Mark serves on the board of advisors for several for profit companies. Mark enjoys running and boating with his wife Stacie.

Mark has a bachelor’s degree and an EMBA from Kent State University.
