| Steere Toward Quality For a continually expanding variety of uses, our bellows come in all shapes and
sizes. Without parting lines or flash marks, vinyl plastisol bellows have smooth, soft
contours and are more resistant to weathering, aging, cracking, and deterioration than
rubber bellows.
Because dip mold tooling costs are low, you can evaluate
your bellows' performance before proceeding to full production. We'll assist you in making
changes quickly and inexpensively. Simple changes in the wall gauge, material
formulation or color can produce different types of bellows from the same tooling.
Tips for Bellows
Sharp, deep convolutions should be avoided when
designing a bellows for dip molding. Bellows with a more uniform wall thickness are
produced when convolutions are shallow, rounded, and properly spaced.
For maximum collapsibility of a bellows, the "Christmas
tree" design is used. This allows the upper convolutions to be compressed inside the
wider circumferences of the lower convolutions instead of on top of them.
Special Advantages:
- Infinite possibilities in shapes, styles and
functions.
- Detailed hollow configurations easily molded. More
comfort, less fatigue.
- Superior durability. Flame retardant. Resistant to
weathering, aging, cracking and deterioration. Withstands temperatures from -20° to
160°F. Strongly resistant to ozone attack.
- Clean exterior surfaces. No parting lines, flash, or
mold and gate marks.
- Variety of wall thickness possible without expensive
retooling.
